Halifax Substance User Network
What you need to know
Halifax Substance User Network (Halifax SUN) is the first network of people who use substances established in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Halifax SUN is a network led by people with living and lived experience (PWLLE) aimed at delivering health promotion and capacity building activities to strengthen the skills, competencies and abilities of other PWLLE in our community. Halifax SUN is informed by a large body of evidence indicating projects led by PWLLE are uniquely effective in engaging the most vulnerable of PWLLE, and are more culturally acceptable. Engaging PWLLE through peer-informed activities and training empowers individuals to share their knowledge and experiences, build trust and support among the network, and reduce stigma and discrimination for people who use substances.
