Visiting or Moving to Halifax

Visiting or Transferring Treatment

If you are visiting the Halifax area from out of province or internationally, community pharmacies require a Nova Scotia OAT prescription. Out of province prescriptions are not valid in Nova Scotia. With advance notice, Direction 180 can temporarily support your continued treatment with a Nova Scotia prescription.

If you are moving to the Halifax area and receiving OAT from an out of province prescriber or another area of Nova Scotia, Direction 180 can continue your treatment as a transfer client.

Please contact Direction 180 prior to your travel or relocation to ensure physician availability. Direction 180 will require a signed release of information to obtain medical records from your current prescribing physician and/or clinic.
