Admission Process

Before you begin methadone/buprenorphine, it must be decided which treatment option is right for you.

What you need to know

Before you begin methadone/buprenorphine, it must be decided which treatment option is right for you. The intake coordinator and physician will need to take some time with you to complete an admission assessment that will give your treatment provider the information they need to get you started. This helps us determine your course of treatment.

The following tasks will be completed as part of the admission process:
Psychosocial assessment (to identify emotional, behavioral, mental, environmental, spiritual well-being)

    • Urine drug test
    • MSI information gathered
    • Confirming drug coverage or financial ability to cover cost of medication
    • Blood work (non-mandatory testing to identify HIV, Hepatitis A, B, or C, and/or pregnancy status)
    • Complete medical examination
    • Policy review
    • Client treatment contract/rights/responsibilities

All clients who initiate treatment with Direction 180 typically start daily witnessed ingestion (DWI). During this time, you will receive your daily medication at the Direction 180 dispensary, located on the bottom level of the Direction 180 clinic between 8:30am and 11:00pm, or a local community pharmacy.
